Coach Mike

One of my fondest memories was watching boxing on the "Wide World of Sports" with my dad on a Saturday afternoon...I remember it coming on right before one of my dad's favorite programs - The Lawerence Welk Show. My grandfather was also an avid boxing fan. It wasn't uncommon on the weekend for him and my grandmother to visit the Blue Horizon in Phila to catch the fights. One of the family stories is that my grandfather befriended a middle weight boxer by the name of Joe Seliga and that my grandmother sewed him a new pair of boxing shorts. I started boxing in my early 20's just for fun. As I began working with different coaches and finding my rythym, I started to become more serious about the sport. I devoted as much time as I could to developing my style and learning from the some of the greats. I trained with Joey Hadley (middle pro boxer under Cus D'AMato). I owe the most gratitude and thanks to my latest trainer Freddy Marratto. He has helped me to fine tune my skills, raise my boxing IQ level and master my craft. My vision and passion is to teach people the sweet science of boxing so they can experience the empowerment and gratification the sport has given me!

Coach Matt

I started boxing since 2012 under coach Mike (Uncle Mike to me). I sucessfully completed Omega Prime - Gold and continued to master my craft. I also worked under coach Mike as an apprentice learning all aspects of coaching. I was trained in all three styles of boxing. My personal favorite is Philly Shell. When I first tried boxing I was excited but didn't know what to expect. Like many people, my knowledge of boxing was limited to what I saw on TV shows and movies. After my first few sessions I realized that there was so much more to boxing than meets the eye and I simply couldn't get enough of it! Boxing is a true passion of mine...I enjoy it for the sport, the discipline and the assurance it gives me in being able to protect myself if need be.

Instructor Melissa

I met Mike in my early 20's and worked as an assistant to him for teaching boxing to individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's. From there, I fell in love with boxing and it's been a part of my life ever since! I love the intensity of boxing and it's fun to bring that energy into every workout when I'm teaching it to others. In my free time I love to hike, camp and go mountain biking!
